    • DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
    • Usually, for adult, ciprofloxacin is administered orally 250 to 500 mg twice a day. In severe complications, you can increase your dose by 750 mg twice a day. For acute infections, drug is administered for 5 to 10 days, and at least 3 days after symptoms disappear.
      Impaired renal function patient
      1) Creatinine clearance> 50 mL / min:
      2) 30 to 50 mL / mn: 250 to 500 mg twice a day
      3) 5 to 29 mL / min: 250 to 500 mg every 18 hours
      4) Patients undergoing hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis: 250 to 500 mg once a day, after dialysis
      5) If only serum creatinine is known, creatinine clearance can be calculated by the following formula.
       Male: {body weight (kg) x (140-age)} / {72 x serum creatinine (mg / dL)}
       Female: 0.85 × value obtained for men
      6) Severe infections can increase the dose to 750 mg once, even with severe renal impairment, but the patient's condition should be carefully monitored after administration.
      Dose adjusted depending on age and symptoms.
