    • DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
    • 1) Adults: Clarithromycin is usually given once twice a day 250mg (titer), and in case of severe infections, 500mg (titer) twice a day. The duration of administration is usually 7 to 14 days. For patients with renal failure whose creatinine clearance is less than 30 mL / min, the dose should be reduced to half.
       In other words, 250 mg once a day (titer) normally, and 250 mg (titer) twice a day for severe infections. These patients should not be given the drug more than 14 days.
      2) Mycobacterial infections: Take 500 mg twice a day. In this case, it should be administered in combination with other antimicrobial agents such as ethambutol, clofazimine and rifampin.
      3) Helicobacter pylori eradication in patients with duodenal ulcer: Omeprazole 40 mg once daily for 3 days and omeprazole 40 mg once daily for 3 days. In other words, clarithromycin is administered once a day for 3 days (500 mg) (titer) for 14 days (1 to 14 days), and omeprazole once a day for 40 mg for 28 days (1 to 28 days).
      4) Pediatric patients over 12 years old are the same as adults. Clarithromycin dry syrup is used for children under 12 years old.
